Gilbert has been a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for Washington State Migrant Council MSFW VR program since 1997. His work experience has also been as an Outreach Worker at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (1989-1997), and as a Youth Counselor. Gilbert comes from a migrant seasonal worker family, and understands the challenges and struggles associated with the migrant season farm worker community. He has established connections with the Latino Community in the Yakima Valley. He has a BA in Psychology from University and a MA in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Western Washington University.
